July 28, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan imported sugar and confectionery products from sugar for $131.643 million for Jan-Jun 2026 ($14.69 million, or 12.5% more versus Jan-Jun 2025, the State Customs Committee informs.

At that, the country exported sugar and confectionery products made from sugar for $73.502 million ($51.456 million, or 3.3-fold more against Jan-Jun 2025).

The import of sugar and confectionery products made from sugar made up 1.6% of Azerbaijan's overall imports and export - 0.4% of its overall exports.

In the first 6 months of the year, Azerbaijan conducted trade operations with foreign countries for $24.7 billion (a rise of 1.1% year-on-year), including exports for $16.32 billion (a rise by 26.7%) and imports for $8.341 billion (a drop by 27.6%).

As a result, the foreign trade balance was positive at the level of $7.979 million (5.9-fold higher year-on-year).
