Mercedes-Benz Group increased profit amid falling sales

July 28, Fineko/abc.az. In the 2nd quarter, Mercedes-Benz Group increased net profit by 13% up to €1.1 billion, despite a 3% decline in revenue (to €32.1 billion) and an 8% drop in car sales (417,800 cars). Earnings per share increased by 20% up to €1.14.

The results were supported by high demand for new models and a sharp increase in the electric vehicle segment, with sales growing by 51% and reaching 20.9% (87,500 vehicles), while orders in Europe more than doubled.

Company's CEO, Ola Källenius, highlighted the resilience of the business in challenging market conditions and effectiveness of its strategy to expand its electric vehicle lineup. The company maintains profitability and strengthens its position in the rapidly growing electric vehicle market.
