July 25, Fineko/abc.az. Alphabet's autonomous driving unit Waymo is considering options to exit its robotaxi partnership with Uber, according to a report by the Financial Times.

Waymo has informed Uber of its intention to operate independently in Austin and Atlanta starting in January 2028, to the extent permitted by their existing contract. Uber currently offers rides in Waymo's driverless vehicles through its own mobility platform in both U.S. cities.

Following the announcement, Uber shares dropped as much as 4.8% to $65.61 in New York trading.
