July 24, Fineko/abc.az. U.S. President Donald Trump has strongly condemned the European Union over what he described as discriminatory and illegal financial penalties imposed on leading American technology corporations.
Following a recent $1 billion fine levied against Google—pushing total EU fines on the company past $18 billion—Trump announced an immediate Section 301 investigation into Europe's actions toward U.S. firms including Apple, Meta, Amazon, and Google.
The U.S. President warned that Washington will re-evaluate these measures and enact substantial retaliatory tariffs against the European Union in the near future.
