July 24, Fineko/abc.az. Over Jan-Jun 2026, Azerbaijan imported 25,608 tons of rice for $22,511,000.

According to the State Customs Committee, imports decreased by 5,084.2 tons (16.5%) and the value by $6,531,700 (22.4%) against Jan-Jun 2025.

The cost of imported rice made up 0.2% of Azerbaijan's overall import expenses.

In the first 6 months of the year, Azerbaijan conducted foreign trade operations for $24.7 million (1.1% more than in the previous year), inlcuding exports for $16.32 bn (a rise by 26.7%) and imports for $8.341 bn (a drop by 27.6%).

As a result, foreign trade surplus reached $7.979 bn (year-on-year rise of 5.9-fold).
