July 22, Fineko/abc.az. Iran and Belarus are aiming to resolve a major obstacle to mutual tourism growth: the absence of regular direct air connections between their capitals.

According to media reports citing Times.by, Belarusian authorities have already issued the necessary aviation approvals, allowing practical preparation for the Tehran–Minsk route to move forward. However, the official launch date, flight frequency, and designated carrier have not yet been formally specified.

The matter was discussed during high-level meetings in Tehran involving Belarusian Ambassador Dmitry Koltsov and representatives from Iranian government ministries, parliament, and tourism industry stakeholders.

In addition, Iran proposed establishing a joint tourism committee tasked with creating travel itineraries, promoting tourism exchanges, sharing statistical data, and hosting joint industry events.
