July 21, Fineko/abc.az. As a result of projects implemented by the International Association of Road Carriers of Azerbaijan (ABADA) and partner organizations, the international cargo transportation in the country increased by 34% for Jan-Jun 2026 compared with the same term of last year.

ABADA Secretary General Kanan Gurbanov says that introduction of e-permits for international road transport with Turkey, Ukraine, Kyrgyzstan, and Kazakhstan has already begun:

"Russia and Georgia will soon join this system. Projects are also being implemented to introduce the e-TIR system with Turkmenistan, as well as e-CMR with the State Customs Committee and the International Road Transport Union (IRU). In addition, we have expanded our ties within the Union of Associations of Road Carriers of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization (BSEC-URTA) and the Union of Associations of International Road Carriers in the Turkic Region (TDT-URTA). We have actively participated in the work of joint commissions between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan, Mongolia, China, and Georgia."

According to Gurbanov, they have also held meetings with the Chinese logistics delegation and organized a trilateral business dialogue between ABADA, the State Customs Committee, and TÜİB.

"All activities are carried out in accordance with the Decree of President Ilham Aliyev on stimulating the export of non-oil and gas products and supporting transportation costs," Gurbanov added.
