July 20, Fineko/abc.az. Alphabet’s Google is developing a specialized server chip, internally code-named "Frozen v2," designed to streamline the operation and boost the response speed of its Gemini AI model.

According to a report by The Information, the semiconductor will embed elements of Gemini’s architecture directly into the hardware, significantly reducing data transfer requirements and delivering a 6-to-10-fold increase in energy efficiency compared to Google's existing Tensor Processing Units (TPUs).

Slated for potential deployment as early as 2028, the chip will serve as a complementary product line rather than a replacement for TPUs; following the report, Alphabet shares rose by up to 3.7%.
