July 16, Fineko/abc.az. The introduction of One Stop Shop principle will contribute to improving Azerbaijan's position in international rankings in the field of trade facilitation.
State Customs Committee’s deputy chairman Natig Shirinov said this at the presentation of information system One Stop Shop (Single Window).
He noted that the results of the 2025 UN Global Survey on Digital and Sustainable Trade Facilitation were clear demonstration of the effectiveness of the ongoing reforms.
"This survey, coordinated by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP), is conducted every two years and aims to assess countries' efforts to reduce the time and cost of trade operations, digitalize procedures, and improve their sustainability. In 2025, the study covered 168 countries worldwide, evaluating their development based on eight key indicators. According to the results, Azerbaijan, with an average of 94.57%, ranked 4th in the global ranking and 1st in the region of Southern and Eastern Europe, the Caucasus, and Central Asia, significantly improving its performance compared to 2023, when the country ranked 9th with an average of 86.05%," he said.
According to the deputy chair, this assessment not only determines the level of development of trade procedures, but also identifies existing shortcomings in order to form more effective government policies in this area.
