July 9, Fineko/abc.az. Nvidia will invest approx. $500 million in a $2 billion fundraising round for Australian cloud startup Firmus Technologies, becoming the largest investor. The deal comes on the eve of company's planned listing on the Australian Securities Exchange.
According to the Australian Financial Review, the investment values Firmus at around $15.5 billion, almost double its previous valuation. The funds will be used to purchase Nvidia chips and develop a data center in Launceston.
The company will also hold an extraordinary meeting on July 31 and propose a 50-to-1 stock split to increase accessibility before the IPO. The ASX listing is expected to take place within the next 12 months.
