July 8, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan imported 1,238 heads of cattle (buffaloes, cows and others) for $5.52 million for the first 4 months of this year.

The State Statistics Committee informs that the indicator is 27% more in value terms and 14% more in quantity terms versus Jan-Apr 2025.

Azerbaijan purchased 363 heads for $1.66 million from Estonia (24% more than last year, +10% in quantity), 342 heads for $1.51 million from Austria (a rise of 11-fold; 10-fold in quantity), and 236 heads for $1.1 million from Germany (a rise of 8-fold; in number - 6-fold), 132 heads for $519,000 from Slovakia (no deliveries a year earlier), 32 heads for $510,000 from Hungary (-32%; in number -41%).

In 2025, 40% of the 8,983 cattle imported to Azerbaijan came from Uruguay and 20.5% came from the Czech Republic.
