Azerbaijan becomes sixth country to join Central Asian countries' cooperation format

July 2, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan has opened up new opportunities for cooperation with Central Asia.

Yusif Abdullayev, the executive director of the Azerbaijan Export & Investment Promotion Agency (AZPROMO), made this statement at a business forum within the 28th annual meeting of the BSTDB Board of Directors.

According to Abdullayev, Azerbaijan has very high level of friendship and brotherly relations with the Central Asian countries:

"This direction is extremely important both in terms of energy security and in terms of transport and communication links. The Middle Corridor is also impossible to imagine without these countries. Azerbaijan has unique relations with the Central Asian countries. Azerbaijan has officially become the sixth country to join the Central Asian Cooperation Organization. Although our country is not geographically part of Central Asia, it is represented on this platform along with other countries. In addition, we have established joint investment funds with Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan over the past few years. Hundreds of millions of US dollars have been invested in these funds."
