Azerbaijan phases out incandescent electric lamps

July 1, Fineko/abc.az. Incandescent lamps are phased out in Azerbaijanin order to increase energy efficiency in accordance with the amendments made to the Law "On the rational use of energy resources and energy efficiency".

ABC.AZ reports that starting from July 1, 2026, the production, import, and sale of incandescent electric lamps with a power of 25 to 60 watts (including 25 watts) are prohibited.

With the exception of incandescent lamps intended for special use in production processes and in products whose main purpose is not lighting, for the import, production, or sale of 25-watt or higher incandescent electric lamps suitable for use in AC circuits, incandescent electric lamps that are the direct object of an administrative offense are subject to confiscation, and officials are fined between 1,000 and 1,500 manats and legal entities are fined between 3,000 and 4,000 manats.

It is also provided that if the same offense is committed again within one year from the date of entry into force of the decision on administrative punishment, the electric incandescent lamps that are the direct object of the administrative offense are confiscated, and officials are fined between 1,500 and 2,000 manatsand legal entities between 4,000 and 5,000 manats.
