June 19, Fineko/abc.az. Shipowners fear that the agreement between the United States and Iran may lead to introduction of charges for passage through the Strait of Hormuz.

ABC.AZ informs that according to the FT, the new agreements allow for a change in the mode of use of the Strait within 60 days.

Iran, however, claims that it is not about paying for transit, but about paying for maritime services (navigation, safety, ecology). Nevertheless, the Gulf States and industry representatives may object, insisting on maintaining the Strait's status as an international and free waterway.
