June 16, Fineko/abc.az. Kazakhstan will accelerate the construction of a terminal network abroad, including facilities in the Alat Free Economic Zone (Azerbaijan).
ABC.AZ informs, referring to the government of Kazakhstan, that Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov instructed the Ministry of Transport, together with KTZ, to complete development of the terminal network, including in Astana and abroad, by July 1, 2027.
Speech is about projects in Alat, Svisloch, Selyatino, Budapest, Chengdu and Constanta, which are aimed at strengthening Kazakhstan's transit potential and attracting new cargo flows.
"In recent years, development of the railway infrastructure has focused on completing projects that have already begun. Plans have also been identified to upgrade the fleet of wagons and locomotives. Now it is necessary to move on to further infrastructure development. In particular, it is necessary to expand the international terminal network aimed at reorienting cargo flows through the territory of Kazakhstan," Bektenov said.
According to the PM, implementation of these projects will significantly increase the transit potential of Kazakhstan.
