June 10, Fineko/abc.az. The SPECA (UN Special Programme for the Economies of Central Asia) working group convened in Dushanbe to discuss cross-border trade facilitation, economic connectivity, and digital transformation.

ABC.AZ reports, citing the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan, that Deputy Minister Ahliddin Nuriddinzoda urged member states to collaboratively eliminate non-tariff barriers and streamline customs procedures to spur regional trade.

  • Transition to Paperless Trade: The participating parties agreed to scale up the digitalization of data exchange, promote paperless trade mechanisms, and accelerate the cross-border integration of national electronic systems.

  • Strategic Impact: These updates are expected to heavily reduce logistical costs and enhance the efficiency of transit corridors across the SPECA region, which closely involves the economies of Central Asia and Azerbaijan.
