May 20, Fineko/abc.az. Currently, Azerbaijan Railways CJSC (ADY) is actively working over development of railway infrastructure in the liberated territories.

ABC.AZ reports that ADY's leading specialist Suliddin Bagirov said this during the information session on the theme "The role of Azerbaijani Railways in urban development and urbanization", organized within the WUF13.

According to Bagirov, in particular, intensive work is ongoing on the reconstruction and rehabilitation of railway line Aghdam-Khankendi, which fell into disrepair during the occupation period.

"Currently, as part of restoration of this line, the level of physical work is nearly 40%," Bagirov says.

He added that another important area of restoration of the railway infrastructure is Goradiz–Aghdam railway line, where the level of work has reached 72%.

"After the completion of this project, as well as the process of creating the Zangezur Corridor, passenger trains of Azerbaijan Railways will be able to run to Nakhchivan," he stressed.
