May 20, Fineko/abc.az. Over Jan-Apr 2026, an increase in passenger traffic in the transport sector was recorded in Azerbaijan.

The number of people using metro, bus and taxi services has increased compared with the 2025 same term, ABC.AZ reports with reference to the State Statisticts Committee. The total volume of passenger transportation by road grew by 9% up to 633.116 million people.

The number of passengers carried by bus increased by 8.9%. 606.123 million passengers were transported by buses.

The percentage of passengers who prefer taxis also grew by 6% and reached 26.993 million people.

The number of passengers carried by the underground observed growth by 0.9% up to 74.18 million people.
