May 18, Fineko/abc.az. From May 26, the daily passenger railway service between Baku and Tbilisi will be restored after a six-year hiatus.
ABC.AZ informs, referring to the Georgian media, that the relevant statement was made by the administration of the Government of Georgia.
The decision was made following a meeting between Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
During the talks, the parties discussed strategic partnership and prospects for expanding cooperation.
Following negotiations, a protocol of the bilateral coordination council was signed. The document, in particular, provides for the full commissioning of the new Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway section, but the date of its commissioning is not specified.
