Turkey's defense industry exports grew sharply

May 14, Fineko/abc.az. Turkey's defense and aerospace exports reached $2.8 bn for Jan-Apr 2026 (a year-on-year rise of 28%), ABC.AZ reports, quoting Minister of Trade Omer Bolat.

For the past 20 years, industry's export has grown from $248 million up to $10.05 bn in 2025. Last year, Turkey supplied missiles, ammunition and precision-guided weapons abroad for $3.7 bn and drones for $2.1 bn.

The sector is showing an increase in demand and expanding international cooperation. Thousands of foreign specialists and delegations are participating in the SAHA 2026 exhibition, and the potential volume of contracts is estimated at more than $10 bn. The industry unites approx. 3,500 companies and 100,000 specialists.
