May 6, Fineko/abc.az. Washington and Tehran are close to concluding an agreement to end the war, ABC.AZ informed, referring to Axios’ sources.

The proposed memorandum envisages Iran's suspension of uranium enrichment, as well as the unfreezing of billions of dollars worth of Iranian assets by the U.S. The parties are also discussing ensuring free navigation through the Strait of Hormuz.

According to sources, the 14-point document can consolidate the end of the conflict and pave the way for further negotiations on the nuclear program. The U.S. expects Iran's response on key provisions within 48 hours. The mediators note that the parties have been as close to an agreement as possible since the beginning of the escalation.

Signals of a possible detente have already affected the markets: the price of Brent crude oil fell by more than 5%, reaching a two-week low.
