April 30, Fineko/abc.az. The railways of Central Asia will receive a new impetus in the coming years due to growth of transit between China and Europe and large-scale investments in infrastructure.
ABC.AZ informs that according to experts, the transit traffic may double by 2030. The main growth will be on key routes, including through Kazakhstan and the China–Kyrgyzstan–Uzbekistan project. At the same time, modernization of railway tracks, terminals and border infrastructure continues.
Amid expansion of the network, the problem of "bottlenecks" is increasing - congestion of individual sections, delays at borders and shortage of rolling stock. This limits the effectiveness of investments and requires a review of approaches to transportation management.
Digitalization of the industry is becoming a separate trend. Companies are moving to paperless transportation, implementing management and forecasting systems, as well as artificial intelligence-based solutions, which increases logistics efficiency and reduces costs.
