April 20, Fineko/abc.az. The Iranian authorities are asking the United States to significantly ease sanctions against the Islamic Republic.
ABC.AZ informs that American television channel CNN reports this, citing a source familiar with the negotiation process between Washington and Tehran.
In addition, Iran is demanding the unfreezing of its assets for $20 bn.
The U.S. and Israel launched a large-scale operation against Iran on February 28. On April 7, US President Trump announced a two-week mutual cease-fire with Iran. On April 11, the two countries held several rounds of talks in Islamabad. The parties failed to reach an agreement on a long-term settlement of the conflict due to a number of contradictions. It is still unknown whether a new round of consultations will take place. The U.S. began a naval blockade of Iran on April 13.
