April 16, Fineko/abc.az. In the 1st quarter of 2026, our country imported 15,351 vehicles for various purposes for $339.631 million (respectively, 15.1% and 33.1% less versus Q1 of 2025), ABC.AZ reports, referring to the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan.

The import of motor vehicles designed to transport 10 or more people, including the driver, grew 2.5-fold up to 280 vehicles for $50.973 million.

Imports of automobiles and other motor vehicles intended primarily for transporting people decreased by 36.2% to 13,359 cars for $251.916 million).

Of them: 1,396 vehicles with hybrid power plant without the possibility of charging from external source for $31.539 million (a 3-fold drop); 5,118 plug-in hybrid vehicles for $107.892 million (a drop of 14.3%); 299 with fully electric drive vehicles for $7.898 million (a drop of 30.1%).

In addition, imports of motor vehicles for cargo transportation dropped by 12.1% to 1,564 cars for $16.34 million, while imports of special-purpose vehicles grew by 51% up to 148 cars for $20.4 million.
