April 13, Fineko/abc.az. Even with the full opening of the Strait of Hormuz, global maritime logistics will not return to normal in a short time, experts say.
ABC.AZ informs that according to them, shipping companies and insurers are not ready to send empty vessels to the Persian Gulf due to the risk of an unstable truce. As a result, imbalance persists: hundreds of loaded tankers cannot leave, and there are not enough new vessels for the return voyage.
Analysts note that the number of tankers passing through the Strait has decreased from more than 100 per day to less than 10. Even with improvement of the situation, the restoration of flows may take months - approximately until July.
Problems also affect container transportation, which leads to delays in the supply of food, fertilizers and other goods. About 30% of the world's fertilizer production from the region may remain blocked for a long time.
