Azerbaijan bought salt from Iran for $131,000 in January

April 9, Fineko/abc.az. This January, Azerbaijan imported 1,448 tons of salt (food grade, iodized) for $165,000 (4% more in value terms and 28% more in quantity against January 2025), ABC.AZ informs with reference to the State Statistics Committee.

Azerbaijan imported 1,394 tons of salt for $131,000 from Iran (49% more, volume +55%), 22 tons for $16,240 from Russia (a drop by 27%, volume -84%), from Turkey - 5.51 tons for $1,990 (a drop by 90%, volume -81%), from Pakistan - 25 tons for $14,140 (a drop by 1%, volume +0.2%), from Belarus - 0.31 tons for $360 (a drop by 97%, volume -99.3%).

In 2025, 74% of the 15,921 tons of salt imported by Azerbaijan was carried out from Iran.
