April 7, Fineko/abc.az. The tension in the Strait of Hormuz has not passed without a trace for the automotive oil market. In particular, there has been an increase in prices for some brands of oils coming from Europe.
ABC.AZ informs that the sector participants say that some goods that were previously sold for 100 manats are now being offered for 120-125 manats.
Although this increase does not apply to the entire market, it is noted that the price increase has already begun for individual brands.
At the same time, the situation varies in all market segments. In some services and points of sale, prices have not changed yet. The main reason is the availability of stocks purchased at the same prices. However, the depletion of individual goods increases the likelihood that price increases will become more noticeable in the near future.
According to experts, some products of European origin are currently becoming more expensive. In other areas, the situation remains stable so far.
As risks persist in the Strait of Hormuz, the main pressure is primarily exerted on new import shipments. In other words, if tensions persist, there may be a shortage in the market first, followed by a larger price increase.
