April 1, Fineko/abc.az. Turkey's first pilot project of a smart road with the use of 5G has been implemented in Istanbul on a 40 km stretch from the Hasdal interchange to the airport.

ABC.AZ informs that the system combines 5G and a fiber-optic network, allowing cars and infrastructure to exchange real-time data and warn drivers about accidents, weather, traffic jams and other risks.

The project includes cameras, sensors, AI data processing and electronic displays, which should increase safety and reduce travel time.

The second stage is planned in Ankara, and the launch of a nationwide 5G network will strengthen the development of such technologies.
