ABC.AZ reports that 54.3% of country's population lives in cities, 45.7% in villages. 49.8% are men and 50.2% - women.

In January 2026, 7,788 newborns were registered by the district (city) registration departments of the Ministry of Justice, and compared with January 2025, this figure per 1,000 people decreased from 9.9 to 8.9.

54.2% of newborns were boys, and 45.8% were girls. 286 babies were born as twins.
