March 13, Fineko/abc.az. Land plots have been allotted in Baku for the construction of 24 metro stations.
ABC.AZ informs that this is reflected in the Report on Cabinet Ministers’ activity for 2025, submitted for discussion at today's session of the Parliament.
As part of the State Program for improving the transport infrastructure of Baku and surrounding areas 2025-30, the Baku Metro received 30 rail cars last year. 20 of those wagons have already been put into operation, and land plots necessary for the construction of 24 stations, 3 electric depots and 16 ventilation shafts have been allotted. In order to improve the reliability of the Metro's power system, diagnostics of the traction electric network of the Red and Green Lines was carried out under an agreement with the Russian University of Transport.
In addition, work has been planned to separate the Red and Green Lines at the May 28 metro station with the use of two temporary mines, and land has also been allotted for their construction. An expert opinion has been received on the construction of a transition chamber at the Icheri Sheher metro station based on the results of geological exploration, and work has begun on the transfer of underground utilities.
