February 25, Fineko/abc.az. Over the past 5 years, the average Internet download speed in Azerbaijan has increased almost 9-fold, ABC.AZ informs, quoting Rashad Bayramov, Adviser to the Minister of Digital Development and Transport.

"If by the end of 2020 the median download speed was about 10 megabits per second, by the end of 2025 this figure was close to 90 Mbps," he said.

According to Ministry’s official, currently more than 90% of broadband connections in the country are provided by fiber-optic Internet services, nearly 3 million households have access to high-speed Internet, most Internet service providers can provide downloads of up to 100 Mbps: "Our goal is to provide high-speed broadband Internet access throughout the country, including including in regions with average speed of 50 Mbps."
