February 19, Fineko/abc.az. The Azerbaijan Food Safety Agency (AQTA) constantly monitors palm oils, palm-containing vegetable oils and other products within the risk-based approach principle.
ABC.AZ reports with reference to AQTA that since palm oil enters the country through import, at this stage, under enhanced control, samples are taken from products and subjected to comprehensive studies in accredited laboratories.
During the enhanced control, samples of palm oil shipments from producer Food Ingredients from the Russian Federation showed the presence of a chemical contaminant (3-monochloropropane-1,2. The products were not allowed to be circulated, and the shipment was removed from the customs territory or destroyed in accordance with the legislation.
