February 5, Fineko/abc.az. The idea of deploying energy-intensive computing in space, which was recently considered science fiction, is being developed against the background of the convergence of Elon Musk's companies xAI and SpaceX.

ABC.AZ informs that Musk believes that scaling artificial intelligence in the long term is possible only beyond the Earth, where virtually unlimited solar energy and space are available.

SpaceX has already requested permission to launch up to 1 million solar satellites that can function as orbital data centers. The concept attracts the attention of investors and technology companies, but experts warn that despite the potential benefits, the project faces serious technical and economic risks and may take many years before commercial realization.
