Chipmaker Micron to build $24 bn factory in Singapore

January 28, Fineko/abc.az. American memory chip manufacturer Micron Technology intends to build a chip manufacturing plant in Singapore, ABC.AZ reports with reference to company's statement.

The cost of the plant will be $24 bn. The cleanroom area will exceed 65,000 sq m, and production is to begin in the 2nd half of 2028. The plant intends to produce NAND flash memory chips.

The company is striving to increase production volumes in the face of acute global shortage of various memory chips because of deployment of AI infrastructure by large technology companies.
