January 27, Fineko/abc.az. - (special news) – The automotive sector is usually stagnant in January and February.
ABC.AZ informs that Eyyub Aliyev, the executive director of the Association of Automobile Dealers of Azerbaijan (AADA), said this, when commenting on the situation in the automotive market.
He added that the situation has changed now. Last year, buyers preferred hybrid and electric cars: "Last year, the used car market almost stopped, and prices dropped by 40-45%. Cars imported by official dealers were also losing market share. Most of the cars were sold without warranty, imported by private individuals. Now the situation is changing a bit. The cancellation of benefits provided by the state has reduced interest to eco-friendly transport. Those who wanted to buy a budget car are changing their plans. In addition, a large share of hybrid sales and, as I have already mentioned, distrust of cars imported by private individuals also reduced the dynamics of the market."
Aliyev noted that hybrids still remain in the zone of interest of buyers and touched upon the future of the market: "I think the future of the market will change in a positive direction. People no longer want to buy cars from just anyone, which means that the number of dangers on our roads will decrease. In addition, the abolition of benefits opens the way for new cars with internal combustion engines. This creates conditions for an interesting competitive environment in the market and various marketing projects. In general, we can say that after April it will become clear how the market will develop in the next two years. The abolition of subsidies in China and the six-month ban on the export of used cars from the country will not pass without a trace for our market. As you know, new cars imported by private individuals are considered used because they are registered in China. After the sale, they will not be able to leave China for 6 months.
All these factors will form a new order in our market. At the moment, the dynamics of used car sales is gradually moving up."
