January 13, Fineko/abc.az. There is an increase in prices for products imported from Iran.
ABC.AZ informs that recent events taking place in the neighboring country and internal instability are not without their impact on the consumer market of Azerbaijan.
For several days now, there has been shortage of Iranian-made products in the capital's markets and wholesale centers, as well as rising prices.
Sellers report that if a few weeks ago customers could find these products at more affordable price, prices have increased due to product shortages.
According to them, the weakening of imports hit the market of consumer goods the most, in particular, butter and rice. As stocks are depleted, prices are also rising rapidly. The situation in the segment of household chemicals and detergents is no different.
Experts believe that if the supply is not restored, this shortage may lead to an artificial rise in the price of other imported goods. Buyers, on the other hand, still see a way out either to buy less or to turn to local alternatives.
Currently, the market situation directly depends on the capacity at the border and internal stability in Iran. It is not yet known when prices will stabilize.
