January 8, Fineko/abc.az. In 2025, the volume of grain transportation through the network of Kazakhstan Temir Joly (KTJ) to Azerbaijan increased threefold compared to 2024.
ABC.AZ informs with reference to KTJ, shipments to Iran increased by 69% and to Afghanistan - by 63%.
Shipments to the Baltic States increased 6-fold, exceeding 800,000 tons, and to the ports of the Black and Baltic Seas - by 49% and 67%, respectively. Domestic shipments in Kazakhstan increased by 26% and exceeded 3.3 million tons.
There was also an increase in supplies to Central Asian countries: to Kyrgyzstan - by 2 times, to Tajikistan - by 12% (up to 1.4 million tons), to Uzbekistan - by 32% (up to 4.5 million tons).
In general, grain transportation through the KTJ network in 2025 exceeded 14.3 million tons, which is 31% more than a year earlier. Exports totaled 11 million tons (+33%), which is the first time such figures have been recorded in the last 10 years.
