January 5, Fineko/abc.az. According to the Government Readiness Index for the Introduction of Artificial Intelligence for 2025, compiled by Oxford Insights, Azerbaijan has risen from 111th to 70th place.
ABC.AZ informs that country's overall score was 48.96. For comparison, in 2024 this figure was 39.92.
Within the index, Azerbaijan scored the following points in certain categories: "Potential of public policy" - 53.5, "AI infrastructure" - 46.21, "Management" - 50, "Implementation of AI in the public sector" - 66.97, "Development and dissemination" - 34.73, "Sustainability" - 58.27.
It is worth noting that Azerbaijan occupies a leading position in the index among the countries of the South Caucasus, as well as the 3rd place among the countries of Central Asia. Thus, Armenia occupies the 108th place with score of 37.17, Georgia - 84th place (43.1), Kazakhstan - 60th place (55.86), Uzbekistan - 62nd place (54.69), Tajikistan - 135th place (27.37), Kyrgyzstan - 116th place (33.69), and Turkmenistan - 166th place (20.75).
As a whole, in the South and Central Asia region (the region's global rank is 6th, with average score of 41.41), Azerbaijan ranked 5th, behind India with score of 67.9, Turkey with 58.1, as well as Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. At the same time, the country was ahead of such countries as Bangladesh (47.4), Pakistan (46), Sri Lanka (44.4), Bhutan (38.6), Nepal (37.5), Maldives (25.9), Afghanistan (16.4).
