December 26, Fineko/abc.az. China has become the world's largest producer and supplier of black caviar, accounting for around 43% of the global market.
ABC.AZ reports that according to the Financial Times, in 2024, the country exported roughly 322 tons of products for $98 million.
The main supplies are under Kaluga Queen brand, which is actively exported to dozens of countries. Chinese caviar is cheaper due to high aquaculture productivity and lower production costs, which allows the country to maintain the leading position in the international market.
Experts note that China is not only increasing production volumes, but is also actively introducing sturgeon breeding technologies, which strengthens its position in the global trade in delicatessen caviar.
