Sales of electric vehicles in Europe increased

December 24, Fineko/abc.az. In the period up to November 2025, new car registrations in the European Union increased by 1.4%, with electric vehicles accounting for the main increase.

ABC.AZ informs that thus, the share of all-electric cars reached 16.9% of the market, 1.66 million cars were registered from January to November, 62% of which were in Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands and France.

In these countries, sales of electric vehicles have grown at double-digit rates.

Hybrid vehicles reached 3,408,907 car sales and occupied 34.6% of the market. The largest growth in the hybrid segment was recorded in Spain, France, Germany and Italy.

Sales of plug-in hybrids totaled to 912,723 vehicles (their market share is 9.3%). In this segment, the growth was 113% in Spain, 80.6% in Italy and 62.7% in Germany.

In November, compared with 2024 same term, sales of all-electric cars grew by 44.1%, hybrids by 4.2%, and plug-in hybrids by 38.4%.

The growth of electrified models led to a decrease in sales of gasoline (-18.6%) and diesel (-24.4%) cars, their market share fell to 27% and 9%, respectively.
