December 19, Fineko/abc.az. Meta Platforms is planning to release new AI models in the first half of 2026, The Wall Street Journal reported. The text model will be called Avocado and will focus, among other things, on improving the generation of program code. The Mango model is designed for creating images and videos.

ABC.AZ informs, quoting Alexander Wang, the head of company's AI department, that Meta Platforms is also experimenting with "models of the world" that learn through visual perception. In the summer, Meta restructured the AI division and formed a team of more than 50 researchers and engineers, including specialists who previously worked at OpenAI.

Meta previously released video generator Vibes and increased competition from OpenAI and Google highlights the growing role of image and video generation tools as key to attracting AI users.
