December 18, Fineko/abc.az. The U.S. Treasury has imposed sanctions against Mexican cartel Santa Rosa de Lima for the theft of oil and fuel, ABC.AZ reports, referring to the U.S. Treasury’s statement.

The organization responded with targeted restrictions to the criminal group's involvement in large-scale theft and illegal trade in oil and fuel.

The document emphasizes that the cartel promotes the development of a cross-border black market for energy resources and damages the activities of law-abiding American oil and gas companies.

"On my instructions, the U.S. Treasury is actively cutting off these criminals from the U.S. financial system. No matter where and how the cartels earn and launder money, we will find them and stop them," Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent stated.
