December 18, Fineko/abc.az.Over Jan-Sept 2025, 171 business entities with total investments for more than 8 billion manats received resident and non-resident status in industrial zones in Azerbaijan.
ABC.AZ reports that First Deputy Minister of Economy Elnur Aliyev said this when delivering speech at the Dayag award ceremony.
According to Aliyev, exports from industrial zones increased by 17% and made about 30% of country's non-oil/gas exports. "The competitive environment encourages our companies to increase productivity and implement innovative solutions, which contributes to the modernization of the economy," he emphasized.
The deputy minister stressed that in the context of the priority development of the digital economy by the state, adaptation of the private sector to new requirements is of particular importance. In this direction, according to Aliyev, the structure of the Ministry of Economy, the Center for Analysis & Coordination of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4SIM), supports the digital transformation of business entities, and the Industry 4.0 program is being implemented.
"Along with these incentive mechanisms, the Agency for the Development of Small and Medium-Sized Businesses (KOBIA) supports entrepreneurs in entering markets, improving knowledge and skills, implementing grant programs, developing innovative entrepreneurship and clustering," Aliyev said.
