December 16, Fineko/abc.az. Over Jan-Nov 2025, Azerbaijan imported 104,404 vehicles for various purposes for $1.998 bn (19.5% and 26% more versus the 2024 same term), ABC.AZ reports with reference to the State Customs Committee.

During the year, imports of vehicles designed to transport 10 or more people, including the driver, increased 2.1-fold up to 808 vehicles (for $90.641 million), while imports of automobiles and other motor vehicles intended mainly for transporting people grew by 29.2% and reached 96,057 vehicles (for $1.786 bn).

Of those vehicles, 14,889 vehicles for $315 million are equipped with both internal combustion engine and electric motor, but cannot be recharged from an external source; 43,582 vehicles (for $815.095 million) are equipped with both internal combustion engine and electric motor and can be recharged from an external source; 1,861 vehicles (for $55.285 million) is powered only by electric motor.

This means that the number of the former increased by 5%, the latter by 5.1 times, and the third decreased by 35.1%.

In addition, imports of motor vehicles for cargo transportation decreased by 7% to 7,123 motor vehicles (for $81.844 million), while imports of motor vehicles for special purposes decreased by 22% to 416 vehicles (for $39.898 million).
