17:31 - 31.10.2025

October 31, Fineko/abc.az. According to the new trade agreement, Ukraine can export up to 120,000 tons of poultry and 18,000 tons of eggs per year to the EU. This is a significant increase compared to the previous restrictions. In return, Ukraine will allow the duty-free import of more European poultry, while the quota will increase from 20,000 to 120,000 tons of poultry meat.

ABC.AZ informs that this decision has faced resistance within the EU due to concerns about unfair competition with European farmers. Countries such as Poland, Hungary and Romania fear that the measure will increase pressure at local markets.

In the first 8 months of 2025, Ukraine exported poultry for $716 million (13% more than last year). The Netherlands is the largest buyer of poultry meat in the EU, accounting for almost 16% of exports.
