October 23, Fineko/abc.az. Three of Europe's leading technology companies - Airbus, Thales and Leonardo - are teaming up to strengthen the continent's position in the space industry and compete with Elon Musk's SpaceX.
ABC.AZ reports that the joint venture is to be established in 2027 and will provide about 25,000 jobs and annual turnover of 6.5 billion euros.
Airbus will receive 35% of the shares, while Thales and Leonardo by 32.5% each.
The new company will manufacture satellites and space systems, as well as space services, strengthening Europe's strategic independence in key areas such as telecommunications, navigation, Earth observation and national security.
