October 23, Fineko/abc.az. To date, 169 women wishing to become taxi drivers have applied to the Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency (AYNA) under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, successfully passed the relevant exams and received driving licenses.

ABC.AZ informs, citing the agency, that currently 111 of those female drivers are working as taxi drivers.

Among the applicants there are 8 people aged 20-30 years, 78 people aged 30-50 years and 25 people over 50 years old. The youngest female taxi driver is 23 years old and the oldest is 71 years old.

In the near future, the first female bus drivers will get behind the wheel.

As part of the organized training aimed at increasing women's participation in public transport, the participants completed theoretical and practical training to get started.
