October 21, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan has launched space services in developing countries.

Acting Chairman of the Board of the Azerbaijan space agency Azercosmos Dunay Badirkhanov says that new opportunities are emerging in connection with the export of services: "In particular, this concerns remote observations of the Earth. Now the demand for images will increase even more. It is lin ked with the processes taking place both in Azerbaijan and in the world, because today we receive satellite images not only in Azerbaijan, but also in other countries through our Center for Geographic Information Systems."

He noted that production of satellites in Azerbaijan is not only about development of the space industry: "This is an indicator of growth of technological potential in Azerbaijan as a whole and a new opportunity to use this potential. This will indirectly contribute to development of many technological and digital industries in Azerbaijan. The location for the Satellite Manufacturing Center has already been selected. Its is project is currently being coordinated. The most important thing is that the project is proceeding according to our plan, and in a few years we’ll see production of our own satellites at our factory."
