October 21, Fineko/abc.az. The construction of the Spacecraft Development Center will start in the coming months.
ABC.AZ informs that the Acting Chairman of the Board of the Azerbaijan space agency Azercosmos (under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport), Danube Badirkhanov, stated that Azerbaijan will start producing satellites in the near future: "We’ve already taken the first steps for this. Our research and development team has been undergoing intensive training in Israel for the Azersky-2 satellite manufacturing project for the past year and a half, despite difficult political conditions. Design and development work on the creation of a Spacecraft Development Center has been completed, which will include a satellite manufacturing plant and personnel involved in production. The construction site of the center is known. We’ll start construction in the coming months. We chose SpaceX as the launch vehicle for our satellite. In addition, for the first time in the history of Azercosmos, we’ve created a subsidiary, the Spacecraft Production Center and Spacecraft Development & Production LLC. The latter will support our spacecraft production projects in an easier way."
