Lufthansa to cut 4,000 employees by 2030

October 1, Fineko/abc.az. Lufthansa has announced plans to cut about 4,000 employees by 2030, most of whom work in Germany. The measure relates to active introduction of digital technologies, automation and the use of artificial intelligence.

ABC.AZ informs that the cuts will affect administrative staff, and operational staff - pilots, flight attendants will not be affected.

Currently, Lufthansa employs almost 103,000 people. Analysts warn that layoffs can negatively affect the quality of passenger service and lead to delays in aircraft delivery times.

Along with reducing the number of staff, the airline has set itself an ambitious financial goal: by 2030, the free flow of funds should reach €2.5 billion annually. In addition, the carrier plans to accept more than 230 new airliners, including 100 long-haul aircrafts.
